A lot of people has always been asking,

"Is It Really Necessary For Pre Wedding Photo Shooting".

The simple answer is, IT DEPENDS.

If you have the budget, by all means, get the best Pre Wedding package out there. But it would not be wise to spend on expensive pre wedding photo shooting and later end up in debts and starts to quarrel due to finance problems. It's not worth it.

In my personal opinion, I think you need to set a priority on where to spent on your wedding. Pre Wedding Photo is one of the less important, in my opinion. But that is just me. Always remember that a "million dollar wedding" will not guarantee you a happy and long marriage. Discuss among both husband and wife. You cannot gauge love with numbers. Doesn't mean he love you less if he spent less on the wedding. Try to think this way, if a person only has 15,000 dollar saving and spent 30,000 dollar on the wedding is greater or a person who has 5 Million dollar in their savings and spent 1 Million for the wedding is greater.

For me, in terms of spending in photography, I would put the actual wedding day first. Then the ROM. Lastly will be the pre wedding. Do remember this, Pre Weddings are a custom whereby you are able to re-create or fake the moment and environment anytime. Unlike ROM (Register Of Marriage) and Actual Wedding days, the smiles and joys, not to forget the tears, are REAL.

Just an idea on what our studio is doing. You might also consider combining your pre wedding with the ROM (Register Of Marriage) ceremony. By doing this, the Photo Album will look even better with real meaningful moments. Save cost and time. Families can join in as well. Is just an idea.

But at the end of the day, it all depends. It is necessary if you think it is. And it is not if you think is not. Your finance also plays the biggest roll here.

During our trip to Pangkor Island, Perak, Malaysia. We manage to capture some of this shots. Using only the Pentax K-5 with the Tamron 70-300 lens.

Pangkor Island, Perak, Malaysia

Pangkor Island (Pulau Pangkor), located off the coast of Perak, Malaysia, reachable from the jetty in Lumut town. Has a large production of dried seafood products. With only a population of around 25,000, you can expect a calm and lay back holiday destination.

Once you have reached Pangkor jetty aprox 45 minutes from the Lumut jetty. You will find the Taxi square where all the taxis are parked. Choose one and ask them to take you to your hotel. Till now, year 2014, its still cost MYR10.00 or USD$3.00 per ride. Once reached, you can request for car, bicycle, or motorbike rental. Its best to rent a bike to tour around the island. A car is not recommended because some parts of the road is narrow and somewhat dangerous.

For accommodation, me and my wife personally preferred Sea View Resort located at Pasir Bogak. Its chalet is one of the nearest to the beach chalet we can find with an affordable price. But it has only eight of those.

Here in Pasir Bogak beach, you are directly facing Pangkor Laut island.

Food here in Sea View Resort is not world class. Its just enough to cure your hunger. We particularly like the "Yong Chow" fried rice. Its tasty and nice. Price is alright I guess consider you are having you meal facing the sea. A plate of "Yong Chow" fried rice will cost around MYR10.00 (USD$3.00).

One doesn't have to dispose their K-5 classic in persuasion of image sharpness. If you are a K-5 classic owner, who just wants to get great sharp pictures. Consider investing in a better lens. Hence the Tamron 28-75 is not the sharpest lens from Tamron to begin with. Try getting a Pentax Limited Primes and be prepare to fall in love with your classic K-5 again.

Now, it doesn't mean that the K-3 is not a better camera than the K-5 classic. In fact, it is significantly better than the K-5 classic in other aspects. Even so, the K-5 classic still holds its ranking for one of the best APS-C camera for its price. Sensor and price wise, it still beats the crap out of most of the camera out there that cost much more. Thanks to the depreciation of Pentax camera, a person can find a good K-5 classic for around USD500 or RM1,500 here in Malaysia.
